Nadia Bolz-Weber was called to be the first installed Pastor of Public Witness for the ELCA Lutheran Church and she’s coming to present at MSU Billings. Bolz-Weber will present on her book Shameless: A Sexual Reformation which reminds us that sexual flourishing can and should be for all genders, all bodies, and all humans. She shares stories, poetry, and Scripture that wage war on perpetual anxiety around sex by celebrating sexuality in all its forms and recognizing it for the gift that it is. This lecture is sponsored by United Campus Ministry at MSU Billings, MSUB Women and Gender Studies, and the Rocky Mountain College’s Wheatley Lectures. Rev. Karen Oliveto will be hosting a conversation with Rev. Bolz-Weber following the presentation Karen Oliveto is the first openly lesbian bishop to be elected in the United Methodist Church and serves the Mountain Sky Conference, which includes Montana. Dr, John A Lee May 14, 1936-Aug 2, 2020 Founding campus minister of United Christian Campus Ministry, now UCM, serving from 1967-1977. He also taught in the Religion and Philosophy Department at Eastern. In both positions he created the space to question and explore faith and laid the groundwork for UCM’s DNA for these last 53 years. A memorial fund in his name has been established by the class of 1967-1970 in honor of his role at mentoring students and in support of the peer ministry program.
